FREMDKUNST UPDATE JUNE 17 2011

Alotofnews concerning Fremdkunst: first of all…Fremdtunes – the series 2 (various artists EP ft Fremdkunst, Devastate, Optimus ft Prince Po, Jameszoo & Vindictiv) is out now on vinyl and as download! An absolute must-have for those who like beats, jazz, funk and electronics. Also, DJ Optimus will release his debut CD this monday: it’s called ‘Double Helix DNA’ and features different guest artists like El da Sensei, Prince Po, iET and Rasco.

Allthough we planned to perform as little as possible (so we could prepare new music and a new show),  we couldn’t let this one go: Fremdkunst will perform at Onderstroom/Vlissingen with keyplayer Jeroen van Vliet (Gatecrash, Sikeda, Estafest) and saxophoneplayer Mete Erker (Estafest) on Thursday the 7th of July. FREMDTUNES – THE SERIES 2 – OUT SOON

We’re very pleased to let you know that one of the Zauberschwein by candlelight tracks by Fremdkunst will appear on vinyl. Namely, the labelsampler Fremdtunes – the series 2 contains the track ‘This side of paradise’. This second edition of the Fremdtunes labelsampler series also contains music by DJ Optimus ft Prince Po (Organized Konfusion!), DJ Devastate ft Segerfalk, Jameszoo, Vindictiv and Boulaone. The digital release will be out on May 9th. The vinyl (with silckscreen printed cover and pressed in very limited numbers!) will be out on May 30. The record is available at http://www.rushhour.nl/store_detailed.php?item=59366 for pre-orders.

 The teaser is done by the always-electrifying Superelectric. Mister Adam, the indefatigable, did the great artwork.

OPTIMACE – USED FUTURE EP

Fremdkunst related artists dj’s Mace and Optimus (together OptiMace) will release their EP ‘Used Future’ on April 18th on vinyl. The digital version of the début EP  is out now! The EP is the result of an intensive cooperation between the two, using all types of equipment like vintage samplers & synthesizers, fx-pedals, turntables, ‘ordinary’ instruments and materials like stoves and brushes. OptiMace created a playful mixture of dusty, jazzy beats, electronics and soundscapes. The two, who also combine forces in label Fremdtunes, invited Belgium saxophone player Erwin Vann to add some mind-blowing brass to the tracks. The digital version comes with a bonus-track, Flash, featuring DJ Vindictiv. Rush Hour distributes the vinyl (out on 04/18/2011). The artwork is done by Klaas Verplancke and Mister Adam.

THE COMPOSITIVE TWO REMIX EP

Our Belgium friends The Compositive Two just released their brand new Compositive Thoughts Remix EP.  It’s a great EP full of dubstep, funk, hiphop and electronics. Nice to know: Fremdkunst (production by DJ Mace & additional sounds and main cuts by DJ Vindictiv) did a remix too! Here’s what The Compositive Two have to say about it themselves: “At first we never intended to have our tracks remixed. But after 2 of the remixers involved in this project offered to rework a track of our “compositive thoughts” album, we decided to ask around for other producers who might be interested to do the same. FREMDKUNST LIVE

Fremdkunst will perform one last time – tonight! – before we dive into a period of extended contemplation on the future and making new songs. So, make sure you’ll be at ‘t Beest (Goes, NL) on Friday 14th of January. We start at 22:00h. Special guest Nicolas Kummert (saxophone, Brussels, BE) will join us on stage! FREMDKUNST LIVE PERFORMING THIS WEEKEND

Fremdkunst will be playing live, soon at theatre near you! January 8th we will be playing as Fremdkunst ‘pocket size’ with Erwin Vann on saxophone, during the first Fremdtunes labelnight – starting at 23.00h! Also performing are DJ’s Jameszoo & Coco Bryce and visual artists Mister Adam & Superelectric.

Fremdkunst will also perform on January 9th at Ekko, Utrecht, starting at 16.00h. DJ’s Mace, Optimus, Vindictiv and guitarist Shycop will be playing live.
